Concord - Vastadon Lab

Vastadon Lab is a map on the planet Akkar using pieces of the Bone Mines and Water Hazard palettes. The guild is running a shady lab experimenting on the last living creatures.

This map had to be done quickly and easily at the end of the cycle. By reusing some palettes we were able to get this map done in about 4 months with a small crew. The map is for respawn game modes and features capture zones instead of drop points. The landmarks for this space include a clean Lab space with a tall tower, an Egg Incubation area and a maintenance area underneath a large hatching egg.

I was the map lead for this level and my contributions to the map include world art and set dressing for most of the outside areas as well as the Incubation and Egg Capture point interiors. Additional level art duties also included occlusion, sublevel management, precomputed visibility, map and memory optimization.
